Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
One of the most important lessons I've learned over the years is this.
When we wake up each morning,
our brains instinctively focus on ensuring our well-being.
As creatures wired for survival,
the default setting tends to be a sense of concern or worry,
a primal response to potential threats,
much like our ancestors scanning for lurking dangers, such as a hungry tiger.
But, how can we shift this primal mindset?
Write down three things you're grateful for.
Studies indicate that this act of morning gratitude can rewire our brains,
fostering a more positive outlook on life.
Through six years of personal practice,
I've found that practicing gratitude can be a game-changer.
It alters the way we perceive and think,
especially in moments when we might feel stuck in a rut.
Shifting our focus from negative to positive empowers us to see situations more clearly,
alleviating worry and opening our minds to innovative solutions.
On a lighter note,
I’m grateful for connecting with old UC Berkeley friends
(Robert Moore, Royce Suba, Anneliese Turck, Jennifer Price, Josie & Mark Greenbaum, Mimi Aye and Gaby Kivitz)
and Cal beating Stanford.
Let's continue to flex our gratitude muscles,
- Finding beauty in our connections with friends, family and food ;-)
- Appreciate the simple pleasures like a nice quiet morning with coffee and practicing gratitude
- Everything we have.
Thank you for reading!
Enjoy the holiday!
