Why Women Investors Need to Embrace Stocks

Writer's picture: Tiffany KentTiffany Kent

As women, we all love to travel. We want to enjoy life with our loved ones and create new memories. An article in today's WSJ "Why Women Investors Won't Embrace Stocks" by Carol Ryan highlights women tend to be more conservative investors than men, preferring to put their wealth into real estate, cash, or bonds while steering clear of equities. This clearly creates a lot of downside risk particularly given interest rates are so low and women outlive men. Therefore women have greater risk of running out of money so there will be little travel in our futures unless we embrace taking higher risk and invest in equities.

The finance industry does a terrible job of attracting female investors and I am working extremely hard to help women embrace investing and to keep their eye on their long-term dreams. Dream, Plan and Invest. www.wealthengagement.com
